Full Show Rundown - 26.09.09

In attendance - 300 People (Sell Out)

BWE Last Man Standing took place before a sold out crowd at the Alec Hunter Humanities College in Braintree, Essex. The show kicked off with a light show that left the 300-strong crowd in awe. It wasnt soon after that BWEs own Dan Paxo Powers introduced the first match of the night and opener of the Last Man Standing Tournament to crown the first ever British Wrestling Evolution World Heavyweight Champion.

The All Star, as cocky as ever, made his way to the ring, but not before berating fans at ringside who clearly took an instant dislike to the self proclaimed
Charismatic Overdog. Filling in for the injured Heartbreak Jake was New Mexico native, El Toro Diablo. El Toro made his way to the ring as fans applauded the surprise first round entrant. Logan Summers was none too-impressed however, and soon took to the outside of the ring, suggesting that he was going to stage a walk-out. As disrespectful as this may have been, El Toro Diablo more than regained it from the crowd when he leaped off the ring and into The All Star Logan Summers, sending them both toppling into the crowd. What a way to kick off the proceedings! Unfortunately for Diablo, the glory was short lived: At just over two minutes, Summers executed a fantastic running-powerbomb and spear that would have earned him a successful 10 second count, let alone 3.

Pinfall was also gained by D.S. North in a brutal encounter with martial arts expert Sifu. The naturally talented and athletic Sifu took North to hell and back with several offensive kicks that looked sure to be the undoing of North title aspirations. But a late rally against Sifu, which included a fantastic leg clutch suplex from out of nowhere and the lightning quick North Star saw D. S. North push on through to the semi-finals.

Liam Collins showed early promise with a win against the much despised Aaron Abel, who's moral code wasn't enough to save him from defeat. Unfortunately, this wasn't the last we'd see of Abel that night.

Trash made his way to the ring and seemed to stink out the arena out as much as he did provoke a round of laughter. The silly stinker walked right past the entrance before making it out onto the stage. Adult and children alike looked on in glee as Trash came out playing an upside down dustbin as a bin. Needless to say, Trash doesnt quite live up STOMP when it comes to drumming. But what the stocky, grubby looking favourite lacks in rhythm, he more than makes up for in effort. Captain Flash Rodgers (BWEs very own wrestler from the future no less) had immediate concerns about grappling with anyone as unhygienic as Trash. Much of the action had the BWE crowd in fits of laughter as Flash and Trash traded blows and, more often than not, missed ones. It looked like the job was as good as done when Flash Rodgers donned the goggles for his Quantum Leap (a top rope front dropkick), but the dastardly Abel, who had just lost out to the impressive teen, Youngblood Liam Collins. Abel, who was clearly not happy about his first round exit, or this comic offering of a match-up between Trash and Flash, laid out Trash, causing referee Jason Preston to call for the bell. Abel then attacked the BWE ref and sent him piling over the top rope before finishing his uninvited onslaught by hitting Flash with his finisher The Pages End. In what some have suggested was an unfair call, Jason Preston lifted the arm of Trash who he announced as victor due to Disqualification via Interference: A very harsh blow for Captain Flash Rodgers. The BWE faithful were left wondering what will become of Flash? Will he get his own back on Abel. What will Trash have to say about it?

Either way, Trash was onward and into the semi-finals to face the
ever forceful D.S. North. Despite impressive zeal, Trash too succumbed in the end to the might and ferocity of North, who ended this one with several high impact moves that
ll leave Trash licking his dirty wounds for some time to come.

D.S. North was booked in the final and all that was stopping
The All Star Logan Summers and the fan-favourite Liam Collins was each other. In one of the best contested matches of the night, The All Star and Youngblood traded blows, moves just about everything else, much to the wonder of the sold out crowd . Logan handed Collins a heavy barrage of power-based moves and even a spear, but Collins could not be laid to rest and Summers was left frustrated by near pinfall after near pinfall. Near the ten minute mark, Youngblood saw an opportunity at downing the arrogant Summers, and leapt from the top turnbuckle through the air to frog-splash the All Star. However The All Star rolled out of the way, leaving Collins with nothing but mat. It wasnt shortly after though that Youngblood seized a second opportunity to down Summers, hitting the man who claims he is Front and Back page news
with the breathtaking Animal Stack. Youngblood was through to the final.

After a short break, Dan
Paxo Powers took to the ring to introduce Trash of all people to the ring. Trash announced that whoever could shout “Abel sucks” loud enough would win a specially baked BWE cake. Very generous Trash, we know how much food means to you!

Thankfully for health and safety, Trash was soon off and the audience geared up for the final between Youngblood Liam Collins and D.S. North. However, Docklands shadiest wrestler had other ideas. Accompanied to the ring by the ever timid Claudette, Shaun Sikes marched into the ring and grabbed the microphone from Paxo. It appeared he wasnt in the best of moods. After a chorus of Sean Sucks and a wave of boos, Sikes detailed exactly why he wasnt part of the Last Man Standing tournament. According to Sikes, the BWE management knew that he was far too experienced a wrestler and would make short work of anyone they threw at him. The crowd disagreed, and thankfully, so did the injured Heartbreak Jake who came out to shove the proverbial sock into Seans mouth. Sikes looked sheepish, but agreed to a match right there and then. The crowd rallied behind ladys man Jake and despite some truly underhanded tactics involving his braces, Sean Sikes was downed after a give-and-take No Holds Barred match up. A piledriver knocked Sikes out cold and Jakes arm was raised as victor by referee Judge Mental.

The final will be long remembered as a debut show classic by the BWE crowd that night however. D.S. North looked utterly menacing in the ring, and early on looked like he may be too much for Collins to handle. But the youngster showed grit and determination beyond his years against North, he fought back and had every man, woman and child on their feet as he lifted the 335lbs D.S. North up on his shoulders and into an explosive spinebuster. The crowd wanted Collins to win so much, and near the end, it looked as if he could do it. But the power and anger of North is perhaps too much for any man to take. After exchanging finishing moves and even accidentally landing one on referee Judge Mental (Youngblood then tended to the Judge), North hit a tremendous Hangman
s DDT and pinned Essexs own Liam Collins to become the first ever BWE World Heavyweight Champion. North wasnt finished there though. The newly crowned champion met eye to eye with Collins… and shook his hand. Collins made his way out of the ring to a standing ovation; stopped only briefly by champion North who took the microphone to commend Youngblood on his effort. That D.S. North showed respect to a fellow competitor is no small compliment.

What will be the aftermath of BWEs Last Man Standing show? Who will seek revenge? Who will attempt to evade it? What new faces might we see? And will Trash ever take a bath?
